Self-Defense and Safety Awareness

The Self-Defense and Safety Awareness program equips students with practical skills and knowledge to stay safe at school, at home, and in their communities. Through age-appropriate instruction, participants learn awareness, boundary setting, and basic self-defense techniques designed to build confidence and personal responsibility.

CYKC’s philosophy prioritizes prevention, awareness, and emotional regulation over aggression. Students are taught that true self-defense begins with recognizing situations, making safe choices, and using verbal skills to de-escalate conflict whenever possible. Physical techniques are introduced in a controlled, respectful environment that emphasizes discipline and safety.

Our instructional approach empowers students to trust themselves, speak up, and respond calmly under pressure. By reinforcing confidence, mindfulness, and self-control, the program helps reduce bullying, improve peer interactions, and promote a sense of personal security that carries into everyday life.
